Ghost Gauge
A dash cluster for the Can-Am Maverick X3, and the app that goes with it.
The gauge is a 320×240 panel that watches the things an X3 owner actually worries about — belt temperature above all — and says so loudly enough to notice at speed. The app carries the same readings to your phone, keeps them on the Lock Screen while it is in your pocket, records every ride, and installs new firmware without a cable.
On the gauge
- Five screens: Belt Watch, Quad Tile, Race Strip, Ring Meters and Telemetry.
- A red frame blinks whenever any reading is past its limit.
- Light and dark colour sets, switched by hand or following sunrise and sunset.
- Five typefaces and five startup animations, all chosen from the phone.
On the phone
- Live readings, with a chart of the last three minutes.
- Alarm notifications when a reading turns critical — Time Sensitive, so they arrive through a Focus.
- The belt temperature on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you ride.
- Ride logging, with charts, peaks, time spent past each limit, and a map of where you went.
- Every setting the gauge has, and firmware updates over the gauge's own Wi-Fi.
- An iPad layout that puts the whole dash on one landscape screen.
Trying it without a gauge
Turn on Demo mode in Settings › This iPhone and the app runs against a simulated gauge — readings, alarms, rides and all. It is the same simulation the project uses for testing.
